Submission of abstracts
One page abstract submitted by prospective participants will serve for
selection of participants of the CwU workshop.
Moreover, a set of abstracts of the workshop presentations will be
prepared and made available on the Web for:
- providing participants of the workshop in advance
with more information about the presentations,
- making this information also available electronically for anyone who
requests information about the workshop.
Unfortunately, we have very limited resources that can be assigned
for preparing the set of abstracts.
We, therefore, request every author to provide us with an abstract
by completing the abstract form and e-mailing it to us.
The abstract form is an ASCII file which has fields for information
needed for processing the abstract.
Forms with abstracts will be converted by a Perl script into LaTeX files
(the Perl script is available for authors, who would like to generate
and test the LaTeX document corresponding to the submitted abstract form).
Such an approach has been used for other conferences and it has proved to
be easy to use and results in uniformly processed abstracts.
The easiest way for you to get the abstract form depends on the
configuration of your browser.
Hence we have prepared three options for you:
- You can click
here,
and this on most installations will result in invoking ftp
for transferring a zipped file with both the abstract form
and the Perl script.
This file can be unpacked using either unzip
on Unix or pkunzip on a PC.
- If you have Netscape browser, then you can click
here.
After the text of abstract will show up in your Netscape window, you
can select from the "File" pull-down menu the "Save as" item to
transfer the abstract form file to your computer, or the "Send page" item to
mail abstract form to you.
Other browsers should have similar capabilities.
You can get the Perl script (for converting the abstract form
into a LaTeX file) in a similar way from
this
place.
- Should you have problems with getting the abstract form via
the Web, then please send us a message and we will e-mail
the form to you.
The abstract form contains detailed comments (in fact comments take
about 90% of the file) that should make it easy to use
with any text editor also by authors not familiar with LaTeX.
Please use only ASCII characters when preparing your abstract,
and e-mail us a clean ASCII
abstract form file (that can be exported from most PC editors)
with your abstract.
E-mails with abstracts are processed automatically on a Unix computer,
therefore please send your abstract form as a separate (containing
no other information) e-mail (please send it as a body of your
e-mail, not as an attachment).
Thank you very much in advance for your help in preparing the abstracts
and please do not hesitate to contact us, if you have any
questions or doubts.
