Workshop hotel

The hotel is located opposite to the Belvedere Castle and the railway station Vienna-South (Suedbahnhof), only few steps from the Air-terminal at the Suedbahnhof.
The discounted prices (offered for participants of the NEMASA workshop, if booking is made through IIASA) are AS 800,- or AS 1260,- (for a single or a double room, respectively) for one night (including breakfast buffet and taxes).

Reasonably priced hotels may be difficult to arrange at a later date. Therefore we have made a block booking in the Favorita Hotel. Participants who would like to stay in this hotel should complete the final registration form not later than August 15, 2000 (we may not be able to help you in arranging accommodation later).

Participants who prefer to make own arrangements for accommodation are encouraged to do this well in advance.

Workshop bus

• On each day of the workshop at 8:15 promptly from the workshop hotel to IIASA. Should you miss the bus, please use public transportation to Laxenburg (there is a bus stop close to the hotel).
• On the first day of the workshop (after the last session) from IIASA to the Heuriger and from the Heuriger (at about 21:30) to the workshop hotel.
• On the second and on the third workshop day from IIASA (after the last session) to the workshop hotel.

Local transportation

Tickets for public transportation can be purchased from ticket machines on the busses and trams, or in underground stations, and at the tobacconists. One can purchase one-trip (22 ATS from a vending machine in the vehicles, 19 ATS prepaid [at tabacconists and from vending machines in the underground stations), daily (24-hour, 60ATS), weekly, or 72 hour tickets (150 ATS). The taxi fare in Vienna is 12 ATS per kilometer with a starting cost of 26 ATS.

• Take the airport bus to Suedbahnhof (leaving every 10, 30, and 50 minutes after the full hour, cost 70 AS).
• A taxi to the workshop hotel from the airport (costs app. 400 AS).
