September 6-8, 2000, IIASA, Laxenburg, Austria
Aim of the NEMASA workshop
The management of the natural environment, especially in practicing advanced
agriculture, is one of the challenging problems faced by modern societies.
Many techniques in applied systems analysis are promising to this end.
The purpose of this workshop is to present new concepts and
methodologies for the environment management, and to offer an open
forum for exchanging ideas between various research disciplines; especially,
between agro-environmental and applied systems analysis research, and
between researchers and practitioners.
Scope of the NEMASA workshop
The NEMASA workshop aims at covering the following areas:
The organizers encourage presentations of very recent results, especially innovative methods, tools and applications relevant for analysis of either global or universal problems for which standard methods and tools of operations research do not offer a satisfactory solution.
Interested scientists and practitioners are encouraged to submit contributed papers. An edited volume of the workshop proceedings with full papers will be published shortly after the Workshop. Furthermore, a volume with extended abstracts of all accepted papers will be prepared. Full papers will be included in the proceedings only if the paper will pass the usual review procedure and if it will be presented during the workshop.
Participation in the NEMASA workshop
Strong international participation is encouraged
for this workshop so that participants can introduce and be introduced
to various research perspectives and approaches in the above listed
research and applications areas.
We are counting on a strong delegation from Japan
and we are also inviting leading researchers from other
countries to present their methods, applications and tools.
Additionally, this open invitation for preregistration is posted
